This past spring and summer, our advocacy has included the following initiatives:
-
Appointment of graduate student representatives to University and GSAS COVID planning committees in a variety of areas, including reopening, campus safety, teaching and trainee accommodations committees
-
After years of negotiation in partnership with GPSS, an improved graduate student dental plan: the new plan has no waiting period, increased services and a choice of plans for graduate students who choose to enroll!
-
Expansion of the Dean’s Emergency Fund to include master’s students and include increased accommodations for students in need of travel funding to return home at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic
-
Expansion of childcare accommodations, including support for 20 emergency backup days through Bright Horizons Family Solutions Company, and Office Accord Virtual Parent Community
-
Migration of all GSA initiatives to a fully-virtual environment, including the new online version of The Compass, our guide to student life at Yale!
