GSA advocates for graduate student life at Yale. A few years back, GSA won free graduate access to Payne-Whitney Gym. And last spring, after several years of effort, we finally convinced Yale Athletics to allow us to organize Graduate and Professional Intramural Ultimate Frisbee. We are currently advocating for greater support from Yale for Graduate and Professional Intramural Sports.

Grad sports opportunities

To create or join an Graduate/Professional Intramural sports team please visit the Yale McDougal Center's Sports and Recreation page for more information or contact the McDougal Fellows.

There are informal pickup basketball games almost every night at Payne-Whitney Gym (PWG)'s Lanman Center courts (or 5th floor courts when the Lanman Center is closed). Pickup usually plays around 7 pm, after varsity sports clear the gym. Friday 7 pm is a guaranteed pickup basketball time.

A weekly women's pickup basketball game is emerging. Please contact Paul Pearlman to join.

There are pickup soccer games many evenings on the grass between Morse and Ezra Stiles (across Tower Parkway from PWG). Grad IM soccer players usually organize these games.

There is informal volleyball in PWG's Lanman Center (or 5th floor) courts, most Fridays around 7 pm.
