III. Call for Reps for the AYA Assembly and Minority Advisory Council - Bryan Woods (GPSS)
- These are two committees in which the graduate school needs people to participate
- GPSS does not have anyone
- AYA Assembly - this year's project is on the history of Yale Publishing http://www.aya.yale.edu/assembly/
- AYA needs one graduate student and one professional student
- The Minority Advisory Council includes 5 reps who will meet with President Levin once a month
- Two of these MAC positions still need to be filled
- MAC operates at a higher administrative level than ODEO
- Bryan will take nominations - if there are more than the number of positions, all will write statements
- AYA - Sophia Lee (Management) & Paul Pearlman (Engineering) - can decide which one represents the professional schools
- MAC - Noel Aloysius (FES) & Sara Nichols (Computational Biology)
IV. Departmental Meetings
Physiology - Jenn Long
- On Tuesday
- Health care updates
- CTF announcement
- Whitehall issue
- No major concerns, but people are worried about a potential lack in grad housing
- What are the grad housing stats (# applicants vs. # in housing, how housing is assigned, etc...)
- GSA had a survey - Eli?
- If you are already in grad housing, you have preference
- Try to diversify buildings, but also try to honor first-come-first-serve policy
Engineering - Paul Pearlman
- Have not had meeting yet, but have a date scheduled in December
- Many things to discuss
Departmental meetings - info for new reps
- As a dept rep you are required to have 1 departmental meeting and to send 1 e-mail to your constituents per semester - $100/rep/semester for dept meetings
- What to discuss? Let classmates know what GSA is and what it does, and tell them they can bring their concerns to us

- Meeting coming up on Sunday at 6:30 pm at ABP

- GSA internal committees are open to anyone who would like to serve
- Merger of Transportation & Security committees? This is up to the people on them
- Bobbi & Stephen encourage committees to meet more often outside of GSA General Meetings
VI. Housing Resolution
- Decision to send GSA statement to the University re:Whitehall
- Waiting for meetings may take too long - so sending a letter is a good option
- Update new reps re: Whitehall issue
- The community at Whitehall is unique and depends on its structure
- Grad school not notified
