As it stands, Yale students have one of the worst deals in the Ivies as far as birth control and Gardasil costs go. We're also the only ones left who do not have some sort of dental coverage, but that's for a later meeting. All the representatives present generally agreed that these issues need to be dealt with, and think the GSA, GPSS, and YCC should work together to make sure they're addressed.
The current plan of attack involves trying to get the administration on board in making sure HR 4054 -- the bill that's going through Congress right now that should give University health centers from the price reduction "safety net providers" still receive for birth control -- actually applies to Yale. The bill is currently written for "a health center of an institution of higher education, the primary purpose of which is to provide health services to students of that institution". UHS is an independent health plan, so this bill still may not help Yale students out. This is likely to become an Ivy-wide campaign, as the vague wording in the bill may not just affect Yale.
The second two parts of the plan involve an educational campaign and a possible publicity campaign, so students have an idea what's going on and where they can find cheaper prescriptions.
